In Response

I offer this new series, In Response, with deep gratitude to my paid subscribers. This will be an ongoing series, shared here and only here, that will draw from a range of artists and mediums as points of departure to create new works of art in response.

Rather than copying, though imitation is a wonderful way to learn, I hope to show you how to take what you connect with from other artists’ work and make it your own. 

Together, we will look closely at shape, color, and texture, and respond in our own ways. Most often, the response will be visual, but at times it may be written, sculptural, photographic, or something unexpected.

I hope this series offers a glimpse into how inspiration travels, how one voice or idea can spark another, and how attention can deepen devotion.
